My goal in creating The Revolutionary Story Tour was to give visitors to Boston the kind of educational-adventure I always yearned for when I was visiting a new city for the first time myself. After graduate school, I spent several winters backpacking and found that most tours were built around maximizing volume and profits, and satisfied in turn providing very generic highlights of the city and very cliche overviews of the history.
Boston is not a generic city, however, and its' revolutionary legacy is the most formative (and contested) aspect of the American identity. The way history is professionally studied, however, and the way it is popularly understood have become almost entirely isolated form one another, and I was inspired by the idea that "narrative travel" could be used as an opportunity to bridge this gap.
I wasn't sure what the appetite would be for such an unconventional approach, but the response has been tremendous, and I'm thrilled that other (often much more qualified) scholar-teachers have now joined the team and embraced the same vision. It's a special city, it's a special story, and it is our privilege and joy to share it every day. However humble our beginnings or accomplished our becomings it always has been and always will be quite simple:

"Excellent, fun, awe-inducing tour. Superb tour. The world is a better place when people find their ikigai, and it was abundantly clear Tyler has found his––he has a profound passion for Boston, its history and the story of the key people who helped found America. And even though it was super cold out, Tyler remained laser focused on his duty as both tour guide and storyteller. 10/10 would recommend and do again, in fact I'm looking forward to doing so.
